When Ferrari unveiled the Luce, its highly anticipated first-ever fully electric vehicle, it triggered an immediate wave of intense debate. Critics argue that the sleek, futuristic shape lacks the passionate soul typically associated with Maranello, with some comparing it to less premium electric models on the market.
However, Vigna remains confident that the vehicle's true nature can only be appreciated in the flesh. He asserted that experiencing the car firsthand reveals a level of unique craftsmanship and performance that shares absolutely nothing with mainstream electric vehicles, from the exterior design to the bespoke interior layout.
A Legend Endangered or a New Era?
Importantly, Vigna reassured the Prancing Horse faithful that the Luce is an expansion of the lineup, not a replacement. Ferrari will continue to develop and produce its legendary internal combustion engines (ICE) and hybrid powertrains alongside this new electric pioneer.
Despite this reassurance, the move has drawn sharp criticism from within the brand's extended family.
