Has Stellantis Just Leaked the Next-Generation Chrysler Crossover?
For several years, automotive enthusiasts and loyal brand followers have asked one critical question: when will Chrysler finally release a brand-new model? The wait might be over, albeit in an unexpected way. An intriguing new utility vehicle recently made a surprise appearance in an official Stellantis video presentation detailing future powertrain technologies. While not explicitly named, this mysterious crossover is highly suspected to be the upcoming production version of the Chrysler Airflow, slated to revitalize the storied American brand.
A Bold Departure from the Sleek Concept
When Chrysler first unveiled the Airflow concept back in 2022, it showcased a low-slung, highly aerodynamic electric vehicle. However, the mystery vehicle spotted in the corporate video reveals a drastic aesthetic shift. The new design is much more upright, angular, and ruggedly proportioned. Key design highlights include:
- An Upright Silhouette: A tall roofline paired with chunky rear pillars and a prominent roof spoiler gives the crossover a robust, commanding stance on the road.

Beyond its striking appearance, the presentation dropped major hints regarding what will power this new utility vehicle. A cutaway illustration showed a transversely mounted internal combustion engine under the hood, indicating a front-wheel-drive bias. This aligns perfectly with Stellantis' revised strategy to offer diverse powertrain choices rather than forcing buyers into an EV-only lineup.
The production version of this crossover, expected to debut around the 2028 model year, will ride on the highly adaptable STLA platform. Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variations are also expected to be available.
